Hey guys. Here's a new name in shipbuilding, just so you have one more competitor to aim your cannons at. Feel free to message me if you want to have a duel, or if you just want to compare ships. We currently play on my small server , so large-scale battles would have to take place elsewhere.

Currently, the fleet is rather unvaried, but every day we are taking steps towards fixing that. Here is our lineup:

    SPV-001:

This is our smallest ship. It is meant to function as a personal shuttle or an escape pod, or an intra-ship transport vehicle--basically anything that one may need a very small ship for. It is not recommended that pilots take these anywhere near combat, as they are barely sheilded and completely harmless.
(sorry about oversized photos... Resizing them is too much of a pain)

    VSP-200:

Here is our second-smallest ship, the lightly-weaponized drone/fighter of our fleet. In numbers, these things can be a real pain, but we have yet to manufacture large numbers of these as we do not have a large carrier (yet...).

    MSC-445:

Next up is our full-sized shuttlecraft. This one is designed to make flights between large carriers or stations, as well as possible interpanetary flights. It is capable of carrying more than one person (5, to be precise), and is shielded enough to make it past (though maybe not through) enemy fire. However, it is not armed, so provoking firefights in it is discouraged. (It was originally titled Apollo_Yacht as it was meant to be a captain's yacht for the Apollo, but docking never quite worked out)

    -

(More photos on their way. The ones I took revealed too much of an upcoming release)

    PT-02:

Next up is our bomber. This is actually the first ship ever built on The SSUJ's server, but it has been heavily refitted to take and deal a much greater beating. It is not the best-looking, but it is agile and responsive. This ship can hold its own in a small-scale firefight.

(Disregard the things in the background)

    Apollo-Class Light Frigate:

    (Original: http://star-made.org/node/12207) (Refit: http://star-made.org/node/12209)

(I'll get to classing these correctly when I find the forum thread about classes again)

Here is our most versatile ship. Only one currently exists under the title USS Apollo. She is heavily armed, and heavily shielded. Not only that, but she is fast, and has a large interior, which can be repurposed to suit many different operations. Feel free to take this one into combat. (The refit version is pictured in the comments below). [Refit operations to make this ship fit for fleet-battle are now underway]

(more information found here: http://star-made.org/content/uss-apollo-small-project-finished )

    USS Titan:

Here is our drone-carrier, the USS Titan. It can carry eight VSP-200's, as well as two SPV-001's. On top of that, it sports fourteen AMC turrets! It also sports two mid-sized pilot-fired AMCs. This ship is built as a support vessel for those large space battles. It is recommended that this ship enter a battle with an escort, as shielding is limited, but what it lacks in shielding it makes up for in defensive capabilities. Buy yours today!

(I may continue to make hull tweaks, but this is pretty close to finished, and I want to start some other projects)

    USS Ethos:

We needed something to fill the gap between the PT_01 and our recently re-refitted Apollo. This just happened to show up. It sports 6 turrets (4 extremely light, 2 light), and it packs dual-AMCs and an SD-KB Missile Launcher. This ship is ready to go to battle, though it is recommended that it at least travels with a buddy.

    Casper-Class Stealth Cruiser:

This sort of happened when I was showing power efficiency to a friend, then I decided to add some thrusters and the likes to it. Anyway, it turned into a perma-cloak, perma-jam ship with a tiny amount of shields. It is, however, weaponless.

    Project FF (In Progress):

In progress, but very close to finished. It is currently 279m in length, with a projected mass of 20,000 (I don't think that's right, but it's what the stats bar says). All I have left to do is a little bit of exterior decoration, turrets and weapons systems. Shortly after the next big update comes out I will release it. However, I will post the download before I implement weapons systems, because this is really the only battleship I have.

    Models and Other Non-SSUJ Ships:

    Danube-Class Runabout (Star Trek):

    (Badly Scaled, No Weapons: http://star-made.org/node/17624#comment-93815)

This sprung up during the wait for the big update. It is almost perfectly to scale (as close as one can get with nothing but cubic meters), so if you have a scale model of DS9 or the Enterprise-D, it should fit in the docking bays. Currently, I only have a version with an actual interior, but one with weapons is in coming soon. Please tell me whether you think it does the actual ship justice. Some of the shapes were pretty hard to replicate (especially the front and the nacelles).

    [UPDATE]
In my efforts to weaponize this ship (which only actually took a minute or two), I realized that this ship is actually not wide enough (by a whole 1 or two blocks)... I'll upload a new model when I'm feeling less disheartened.

(Please pardon the highlighted-ness of these ships. I'm too lazy to take more screenshots)

[Update] Here are the corrected versions, both weaponized and not.

    (Correct Scale, Weaponized: http://star-made.org/node/18370 )

(Correct Scale, No Weapons: http://star-made.org/node/18371 )

What do you think? Better or worse than the previous version? The peaceful model has a nice cozy interior.

(A nice little shot of the faction base, too. I'll upload stuff about that at some point.

The ships are looking great, although in my eyes, the smaller ones look better then the frigate.

Every ship but the frigate has the hulls smoothed out by wedges, why not smooth out the frigate? It would look much better if done right.

Yeah, I have been too lazy to figure out wedges on that. That\'s another thing I can do when I get frustrated with my current project. I\'ll keep that updated.

I worked on the slopes, and they don\'t look to great in parts. Since I\'m not too great, does anyone want to give me advice?

The best tips I can give you would be these:

Since you\'re incorporating slopes into your designs more then a fair few people; make sure they look as curved as you want them. Getting the ship aesthetic is a key part of it.

Second; ships can look perfectly fine without slopes at all. And they\'re usually one of the last elements of the ship to go down, but one of the key points of slopes is, if you\'re going to slope part of the ship, is can look out of place to the rest, if you do part of it sloped, do the majority of it sloped as well; or don\'t use them at all.

I\'m not exactly the best at industrial ship design, but I stick more with organic looking ships (More curves!).

Feel free to shoot me up with a message if you ever decide to try an organic ship. :D

Alright, here she is! I feel okay about the new slopes, but I\'m definitely going to keep the first model handy. This version will be saved as a refit, because I beefed up the shields, hull, turrets, and I added slopes. This is currently my strongest, and most reliable ship, so the stats you see are the stats you\'ll be fighting if you run into me somewhere. I can supply download links to anyone who cares, too.

    It looked good.

Now, it looks absolutely epic! Nice job! You got the slopes figured out nicely :)

Here\'s the basic frame. I\'m getting things figured out slowly. I have a fear that I might need to make some big changes to its height, though. We\'ll see.

Here\'s an example of how docking is going to work:

Alright, here\'s the hull finished, though obviously not polished. The interior is currently in about the same state as the exterior.

Next Up: Turrets, interior work, exterior work!

Here\'s a recently de-classified photograph of our latest project in preliminary systems-testing.

There\'s still work to be done, however. Most of the interior is finished, save for two rooms and some lighting. There are still two more turrets to be mounted, and the exterior needs some more detail.

So, I\'ve got a new ship on the production line (as well as a few replacement fighters in the development stage), which should be ready at some point in the near future, but I have a question about vents.

How would you guys go about making something that looks like a vent on the rear (near the engines, of course) of a starship? I need some aesthetic suggestions, because I have come up empty handed.

Any ideas help, and many thanks to those who reply.

First off, I haven\'t had much time to allocate to StarMade lately, so I\'m sorry if anyone was expecting anything special (but who really reads this thread anyway?). Anyway, I\'ve been working on a big project (my biggest so far, at a whopping 280-something meters), as well as a line of smaller fighters. I\'ve got one of the fighters finished, but I\'m not sure if I like it yet. I\'ll upload what I have eventually

In the meantime, here\'s a small snapshot of the big project:(I probably should have turned off symmetry, but whatever)

    Credit where credit is due:
I\'m using Tomha\'s \"Halo Inspired/More \'Human\'\" Texture Pack. It\'s not completely finished yet, but I really like the look of things. It can be found here. I\'ll just leave this here so that I don\'t need to attach it to every post.

I\'ve just been doing some housecleaning. Also, thank you to Vandred and Trollerbobman!
