I am seeing a lot of serious names in here... but where are the FUN ones? What of the names that make you smile? Read this list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_spacecraft_in_the_Culture_series and maybe think outside the box... Also good are racehorse names or zenlike statements.

Furya/Furia- Furya was my first capital ship but was destroyed in an....accident....and then furia was the next version



Ascension- This is my SpecOps carrier.



Ascencia- The second version of my specops carrier i\'m working on



Starwarrior- This is a mech i\'m working but makes a decent name for a battleship too



Stargazer ( this is from somewhere but I can\'t remember but i\'ve liked naming scout ships this)



No Solicitors- (the name of my flagship) (from a book called \'Excision\'



Reason\'s End- An experimental Bahemoth that will most likely never be complete. It\'s basically just a massive mobile weapons platform rather than a ship.



SunFlash- Another name I like for scouts



Apocrypha- The name of my battlecruiser



Decimation- my battleship



Desolation- The name of my world eater



Karma- My destroyer



Excision- The name of my main carrier



Fate\'s Loft- The name of my second carrier

At least in the U.S., ships are generally named after a person, notable battle, or human quality. Examples:

USS Nimitz, George Wahsington, etc.

USS Yorktown

USS Intrepid
