Hello and welcome to my Collection of Random Ships That I Build in Singleplayer (tm)! I thought I would put these out there and ask the opinion of the community on my building skills (or lack thereof).

    First off: The Civilian-grade Fighter:

    Stats:

    Mass: 82.5

    Dimesions: 19*19*21

    Power: 13456.2e/sec

    Thrust: 136.9

    Shields: 10655 (774/s)

Weapons: 8 AMCs with a combined DPS of 2102.4

    Features: Glass cockpit, Anti-stealth redlights.

A civilian ship with enough weaponry and manouverability for self defense and light offense, this ship was designed for a warlike empire (think Ancient Romans) that would conscript civilians at a moments notice.

Also, why is it a civilian fighter? Is it a civilian craft or is it a fighter?

It is a ship that is rated for civilian use, that is classified as a fighter. My thoughts when I made this was of a empire devoted to war (think Ancient Romans or the Vagyr Empire faction) that would want even the civilians armed for conscription. I\'ve posted an explanation of the conflicting classes in the OP.

When a nation arms civilians they cease being civilians. Arming them for conscription makes them conscripts.

If this empire needed to quickly arm a large number of civilians, not needing to provide each conscript with a new ship would be a large saving and allow said empire to field a larger force on the same budget.

My second ship is built off of the same hull as the first: The Diplomacy-grade Fighter.

    Stats:

    Mass: 101.7

    Dimensions: 19*19*32

    Power: 13456.2e/sec

    Thrust: 226.3

    Shields: 10655 (774/s)

Weapons: 8 AMCs with a combined DPS of 2102.4

Features: Glass cockpit, Anti-stealth bluelights, Meeting room.

A variant of the Civilian-grade model, the Diplomacy-grade features more thrust and a rear meeting room for matters that cannot wait for the safety of a planet or station.

You can have civilian class fighters. Military ships will be designed for war and other combat, more guns shields and armor. Civilian ships are usually less armed than military and designed with either just defensive weapons or for the defense of convoys.

All my civilian ships have light turrets for defense and escort craft will all have offensive capabilities albeit not very impressive firepower.

I really like both those fighter designs. The sparing use of wedges gives them a great, streamlined look to them.

    Keep up the good work.

Not using wedges makes it a more practical fighter. Wedges have the same mass as a full block, so adding them would slow you down dampen maneuverability.

Unless you replace the full block with the wedge instead of slapping it on top.

That\'s what I tend to do if I need the extra speed. On larger ships it isn\'t as important.

Making a judgement off of a single front view is difficult. However I personally look forward to seeing where that WIP goes.

I\'m glad you have high hopes for her. More pictures will come tomorrow (my time). I can, however, disclose some information on her:

    • She is already sitting at 29k mass.
    • She is designed to \'remove broadcasting obstructions\'
    • She will be classed as a corvette. (I kid you not)
    • She is owned by a fictional version of the BBC.

Well, technical issues prevented me from hitting my Thursday deadline, but she\'s here.

    The Nameplate

    A front view this time.

The core is in that front antenna.

    Mass: 42798.9

    Dimensions: 157*103*207

    Power: 2509786.8e/sec (57893551.3e)

    Thrust: 17741.0

    Shields: 2776524.0 (50237/sec)

Weaponry: 318 AMCs with a combined DPS of 56620.2, 46 Lock-on Missiles of varying strengths.

The Shikia isn\'t meant to be invincible, and the core placement was a building oversight that I quite like. Anyway, 2.5m shields on a corvette is more than enough to make up for it.

At the moment, I am at a slight stalemate, so what do you want me to do next?

    1. Add downloads for my ships.
    2. Post a line of fighters I have an idea for.
    3. Build a fighter to go with the Shikia.

    You choose!

I will count votes at 1300 GMT, GO!
