Yes the sin of sins where you have to kill the thing to get the loot it has both storage blocks for loot to spawn from but is also mostly made out of resources in capsule form. I'm working on a ship design for these things and it is going to be maddening for players to face them because to get the loot they have to overheat the ship. Bigger ships will vaporize these poor things before anyone checks their nav to see what they are while smaller ships might have issues with what amounts to a drone with a huge block of capsules on the tail end of it trolling them to shoot it. XD

Anyone have done or planning on doing this? Also a side note, I've noticed we can't place raws down as blocks, bug or intended?

from my understanding raws not being placable is intended but then again i don't see why that should be so i half expect them to change this later. Also storage blocks on a AI ship do not spawn loot in them, loot only spawns when the ship overheats

but there are ways of filling those storage blocks with more loot by use of auto salvage beams. :)

the only way that could work is if the storage were attached to a smaller ship docked inside the mothership and have it point at another ship that is logic rigged to warheads next to some system blocks. Start the warhead circuit then save the blueprint before it goes off. if everything goes as planned every time the blueprint is loaded the warhead should go off and overheat the loot ship allowing the other ship to use auto salvagers to take whats left of the loot ship and fill the storage blocks.

but then again thats a lot of planning and maybe more work then its worth

I'm working on a ship for the AI that is more about pulling all the wrecks to it and salvaging them. No need to have a ship inside a ship if it is dangerous enough to win and able to drag the targets to it. :)
