There would seem to be a rise in RP servers going live, and with it, a massive amount of poorly done character applications. THIS MUST BE FIXED.

When you're going to create a character for an RP server, don't be stupid about it. Seriously. Despite how much you might want to, or how unimaginitive you are, you cannot roleplay the Dovakhiin in space in good RP servers.

Don't just steal names and lore from a different universe, it just makes you all more likely to be denied entry to the server. Be more creative, think of an interesting name and backstory combination; And interesting, but not outright ridiculous.

Moving on to backstory, this applies to characters you might be bringing in from another server as well, Always make sure your character history fits within the lore of that Server/universe. If, for say, the lore of that server dictates X Faction is the only one with access to giant, expensive ships, then you don't just go off and import the Nexus to combat them.

Then would come the actual application process, having worked everything out to apply to a whitelist server. Even if you aren't immediatley replied to after posting, don't just start spamming with "So was i accepted?" Chances are the server host has a lot of applications to look over. Be patient.

Patience would be one of the most important things when it comes to Roleplaying.

I do hope this helps with better RP characters in the future. VARGULF AWWAAAAAYYY

This seems to be a trend not only here, but in other places as well that isn\'t specifically a congregation for \"pro\" or \"veteran\" RPers. I\'ve seen it on IMVU as well with fanboys of certain works of fiction finding out about RP and wanting to take on a canon character, or at least their name, or any other unimaginative or generic crap, really. I think like anything else, internet RP has reached the point where it\'s no longer an exclusive thing known only to the truely artistic and devoted nerds. The general, lazy masses have caught wind of it and want to try it out, but they lack any smattering of originality or creativity.

Well there is such thing as light RP, and not everyone has the knowledge to really go in depth with their character, faction etc. I agree that good RP is great for everyone involved, but just because someone is new doesn\'t mean they should be excluded for taking on some other name that they didn\'t come up with. I\'d say as long as it fits the server/universes theme, it should be accepted. Maybe their character just happens to have the same name, or the same sort of quirks as that particular character.

Light RP doesn\'t mean one has to be unoriginal and uncreative in their work. The whole point of RP is literary creativity.
