Target Painting

    Yeah, if there are multiple targets painted, the turrets/swarmers would divide attention between the available targets as they do now.

    Also: multiple ships painting the same target means the target has to fend off more ships to break the lock.

    Maybe painting the target guides the missiles to that specific area of the target? several ships all painting different areas of the target splits up the missiles launched to hit those points.

    Ooh, what if you could paint specific systems?

    As in, you could have your ship set to "Paint Thrusters" and it would find the largest single mass of thrusters and lock onto it's center of mass. Or you could "Paint Shields", "Paint Power", "Paint Weapons", etc so that the gunships could individually target ship systems instead of just whatever happened to be densest?

    I like this idea...while I do enjoy starmade's combat, it is a bit brute force-centric, WHICH IS FINE! but adding this level of depth would really bump it up quite a lot
