Ok i had an idea that many people probably wont like instead of adding a rediculous number of engines to a huge ship so it goes at max speed set a lower max speed for truly large ships and add ftl so small fast ships can be usefull then you will hopefully see huge heavilly armed and armoured ships slugging it out like real space ships should while fast fighters would be deadly unless countered or attacked with point defence then implement ftl in a way so you set the co-ordinates then click start jump and travel at somthing like 200percent speed. Then add stasis pods that allow you to respawn back on your ship when you die or login/out and the game becomes a truly fun exploration game oh and ps instead of the silly recipe system make astroids to they have raw metals that you need to harvest then use factory blocks to make the kind of hull blocks you need to do that you have to swap recipes for blueprints then until you get the blueprint you cant make the block theres my bucket of pennys please give me some feedback!!

You have no idea how physics work? Big ships move faster then smaller ships but because of smaller ships size it looks like the big ship is slower.

    ^I agree.

Also, punctuation helps a lot when you are attempting to read something.

I think having lighter craft achieve higher speeds with much less effort is a given. It fits gameplay wise, it adds a powerful and natural balance, and it resembles most space-tropes.

The fun of really big ships shouldn\'t be going really fast, it should be having so many toys to play with. The fun of small ships shouldn\'t be non-existant because big ships can go just as fast, it should feel like a speed demon.

Granted, I also like the idea of larger blockade-runner style ships that put a good 30-40% of their mass into thrusters and zip around like a rocket.

hi this is my first message in starmade forum and my english its not so good but im gonna trie to give my opinion.

i really like the idea to add an ftl on the big ship or an speed ligth jump like star treck o battlestar galactica, i think that bigger ship should move slower but the can have the \"FTL\" jump to travel in any part of the galaxy in any time also it can be use if an ally its in combat and need help, he can give you his coordinate and then the ships can jump in the middle of the fight to help or rescue his camarade, whith a big sound effect and a good visual effect of the FTL jump, should add a big strategic combination on battle and a very nice plus on the game.

    thanks for lisen.

Personally, I think we should have much greater mass increases per block added, which should dramatically increase time to hit full speed for larger ships, giving them a semblance of being slower. Then add ftl for everyone, make it energy expensive, and limit it to make it require some kind of civilization for proper use (AKA make it limited to immobile structures)

But really, think about what you\'re suggesting in terms of game design: At what point do you suddenly decide that a ship has a lower max speed? How do you set coordinates for this FTL? When you make a suggestion, try:

1: Thinking about the actual changes it would make, and plan accordingly

2: Use proper english/main language of the forum in question so people can understand you. It took me half an hour to read that post and feel I truly understand it

3: Don\'t start it with \"Ok i had an idea that many people probably wont like\". It doesn\'t help.
