I am aware of one ship that is a dedicated tutorial ship, dedicated to showing new players details about the game.
The description says that it is not meant to replace the in-game tutorial, but I think there's room to have tutorials in various formats, because different players will learn differently. Some people might learn better from videos, while others will learn better from doing (think: tutorial sector where you can build tutorial designs), while still others will learn better from reading and observing. (Think: Reading a display block and observing the block build layout on the other side of a glass wall.)
