I have been working on a Utility/Work ship. With shipyards a thing and magnetic docks on the road, I wanted a ship that might be found at said yard. (See Asteroid Rose) I soon found my work horse could move a 400+k mass ship around but it would send a 2k ship off into the next system.
I think a controller for support systems might be a good idea. It could allow a pilot to adjust the output, range or other parameters of a "slaved" support computer. This might look like the old weapon adjustments. This would allow, not just, for a true tug ship but tractor arrays on destroyers with a longer reach (at a cost), "restrictor" zone/ships and gravity mine fields to name a few.
      Thoughts?
