Suggestions to help make galaxies unique

    I know that galaxies as it stands are mostly just concept but thats actually good since you won't need to alter your current plans.


    Basically each galaxy could have a separate catalog. I could upload a ship to the catalog but it will only appear in the galaxy I was in when I uploaded / saved. This way if you want a particular ship you might need to travel which gives some purpose to the default game!


    This also effects pirates making themed servers much easier to customize as for example a Stargate server will have a galaxy where the catalog has Wraith ships. These ships will only appear in that galaxy and not anywhere else. The data used to figure out the galaxy should not be imported when you convert to a .sment aswell. I really think this will help expand the game in a lot of ways and start down the custom AI factions path as you can sort of do it now using this method.

    This is an alright idea, the implication that certain 'groups' would claim the galaxies and fix it to their way. So instead of the game making things unique (requiring coding time) the players make it so.

    Such a small idea could make a big difference.

    Exactly. Also could we get it so we can decide if we want a ship only available to Trading Guild instead of both pirates and trading guild?

    There is already a selection that you can only buy this ship on the home-base or members of your faction...
    EDIT: maybe was not clear enough ... below should tell you that I think existing featrues are not sufficient.

    How do you feel when thinking about options to :
    1. select blueprint home sector and access level from
      1. enum : "Faction shop owner" = { "Custom Faction" < "Player" < "Faction" < "Ally" < "No Enemy" < "All" }
      2. bool : "Allow owner's friends to use it" = yes | no
      3. enum : "Requires" = { "Planet" < "Station" < "Shop" < "Trader" < "Anywhere" }
      4. enum : "Buy distance" = { "Sector" < "System" < "Region" < "Quadrant" < "Galaxy" < "Anywhere" }
    2. require X station per uploaded blueprint? Server options :
      1. int : "Required stations per owned blueprint" = [0 .. x .. maxInt] : 0
      2. int : "Required Station mass per ship mass" stationMassMult = [0 .. x .. maxInt]
      3. int : "Free allowed ship mass" shipMassFree = [Core.mass .. x .. maxInt]
