So I decided to play Starmade for a bit. It's the first time I've played in a while, and I had a few issues downloading the newest version, although that seems fixed for now, aside from it asking me to reset the universe every time I start up...
Anyways. So I start a new game, create a new ship, fly around collecting some minerals, buy some factory bits, fly to an ice planet, get bored of shoving things into the factory to see what comes out, and decide to find a shop. I ran into a bit of trouble while looking for one, some hostile ships. Some of them were harmless dummy ships I had saved though, so I didn't have too much trouble.
I noticed a few strange drops while salvaging what I could, but I didn't really pay attention to it until I reached a shop and started selling some stuff.

The very very large number caught me by surprise. I'm pretty sure none of the ships I salvaged from that battle had these kinds of blocks.

Nor did any of them have redwood leaves, y-hole nucleuses, purple vine stuff, white wedge blocks, or black corner blocks.
Is this sort of stuff normal? Something that's part of one of the updates I missed while I was gone? I mean, it's most likely some sort of bug from me not updating it correctly, but just in case, I thought I'd mention it here.

Moral quandary, should I sell these ill-gotten gains and create some sort of super ship with the profits? :P

You might have picked them up accidentially. Defeated hostiles now drop random loot depending on their size.
