    im not shure if someone came up with this idea yet but

    how about :

    devide storage into 3 separate types of blocks

    first) the storage block , this block is the actual storage it self

    second) the upgrade block , for each upgrade linked it adds one row (on destruction this block releases its part of the content)

    third) the interface block (also to be linked to the main storage block for acces and sorting)

    so why will this be usefull ?
    now you can make one gigantic storage were all factories can pull from 1 storage unit
    and with the interface you can view its content from several remote places

    prob a hell of a undertaking to program XD

    Perhaps this interface block would be interesting. The storage pull system does not help right now. Most of the other stuff, having huge storage systems that automatically pull from factories and a single dropoff point, and can be accessed in a single place, can be done with only a little ingenuity under the current system. The only things I would like to see would be the ability to pull directly into blueprints and some better way to search connected storage blocks. So, an interface system basically.

    My faction's home base is equipped with a central storage and sorting system. At various locations, there are a pair of storage crates. One can be set to retrieve items from the main system and the other returns items to be sorted. The problem is that we can only see what's in there by going to the main location, so being able to search the entire system like that would be great. Blueprints will eventually only be used in shipyards, and I imagine you could slave storages to shipyards so I wouldn't worry about the blueprint part. We will probably get shipyards with or before a storage revamp.
