STOP OBFUSCATING THE CODE! :P

Hey whoever! Please stop obfuscating the code.. It does not protect your intellectual property as it is an interpreted language! I say this because I would like to see this community flourish like Minecraft (only faster).

I am working on adding onto the event receivers for various things in the StarMade.jar file. Eliminating the obfuscation would speed this process up for all of us Java developers that would love to get a jump start on developing for this amazing game!

People will buy your game, do not obfuscate!

Also, can we have a development category in the forums please?

The reason for the obfuscation is not property protection, schema is letting you play free after all. He has stated that it is simply to prevent modding from occuring DURING the highly unstable period of Alpha. There are days that he patches the game 5-6 times, and often patches every other day (except on occasions that he is doing somthing big)

The obfuscation is merely to preven headaches of the modders until the Code has reached a more stable point (and a possible API put in place) Modding is desired and planned for, just not quite yet.

You\'re going to bury yourself in code that\'s going to change. Wait until it\'s in a stable BETA state (Say it with me: \"It\'s Stil In Alpha!\" (C)) and have fun with it then. You already own a copy (Thank you btw!) so enjoy the buggy goodness of what is quite possibly the perfect game and only just in alpha! Don\'t worry be happy.
