Starmade Starter shows blank window

I'm on 64 bit Linux. Starmade opens a blank window. And sits there. I don't know what even to try.

Are you using a tiling window manager?

Yes, I use bspvm.

This might be part of the problem.
We had someone in the support chat a few days ago with the very same issue. As far as I remember it, it was like this: The JVM has some kind of hardcoded list of supported window managers. Something in the Swing stuff uses this list to determine how to behave and does obviously not have a very good fallback.
The solution was to fake the wmname to one of the supported TWMs. I forgot which one this guy was using and which name did solve the issue, but hopefully this will point you in the right direction.

I have figured it out for anyone else who runs into this problem, here is how I solved it:
Goto http://tools.suckless.org/wmname, download, `make`, then run the example `./wmname LG3D`

[00:14:08] <hrdinka> wmname LG3D & java -jar ....
[00:14:24] <AndyP> and thats it?
[00:14:25] <hrdinka> will tell java that the wm's name is LG3D

He also stated the problem is related to a xmonad bug/issue.

Guess you went the same way, as that window name seems a bit random but unique too :P

This has nothing to do with the issue in this thread. The newsfeed is gone since the launch of the new website.
