The history of the Argus is long and errant, originally commissioned as a heavy cargo hauler, the ship was soon hijacked into a research ship after the demand for a proper, long-term vessel became too big to ignore. Unfortunately, this is where things go errant for the construction.
Since the ship was originally commissioned as a cargo hauler, the trusses that would have made up the cargo clamps and spine of the ship became attachment points for various modules and living quarters, and are hollow, but now contain a plexiglass tube with walkways to said modules, unfortunately, design changes mean that some parts of the ship are luxurious and exuberant, and others spartan and efficient.
