Stabilizers, or how about coolant tanks.

Thermodynamics is a key issue in nearly every complex machine in the world.

Stabilizers are kinda bad, and nearly everyone knows that. They're just so restrictive. So why not add in something a little different? why not add in coolant tanks /blocks?

A Coolant block would still need to be placed with some distance from the reactor, but not far from it that it that would actually have to place it on the opposite end of the ship. (maybe 2-3 blocks from the reactor itself.)

Coolant tanks act in a way that cools, and prevents the reactor and chamers from overheating, and becoming unstable. in-order for it to work effectively. A coolant tank needs to at-least be 1/2 the size of the reactor for it to do it's job properly. however, a coolant tank can be overwhelmed in stressful situations. Look at mech warrior online, and how they implement the overheating system. Allow our reactors to overheat if we overuse them in combat situations.

Allow a coolant block group to be overwhelmed, even if it were 1/2 the size of the reactor in stessful situations to encourage the player to either build more than one, or a larger tank to combat the overheating going on within a reactor, and among the other systems within the ship.

allow chambers to add to the overheating issue to your ships other systems so overheating in your weapons, thrusters, missiles, warp-drive, shields, or even the secondary effects systems becomes an issue a pilot needs to consider when they construct their ship.

our weapons should lockup from overuse.
our thrusters should fizzel out from allocating too much energy into them, and overheating
our shields should surge and pop

The reactor is what keeps your ship alive. The coolant tank is what prevents it from baking you alive.
