Sound still on after turning it off

Im finding i can still hear my ships thrusters constant on even though ive turned the sound off and turned the sound volume to 0 it

Trying to listen to Neil DeGrasse Tyson over the sound of my screaming enemies is difficult >:P

I am having the same problem. I am also getting a lot of popping and cracking sounds. This is a good game but those sounds make my head hurt. I can\'t wait till it somes out.

same issue over here, it\'s pretty annoying.
