Did I miss something some update news or something? The Piercing effect modules and such aren't in the block list in creative anymore. I'm just wondering if that's the case, or its a bug. Or are some blocks only available in the purchased version now?

It is a thing called 'Weapons Update'.

the only time you need to worry about the 'purchase version' is once SM goes beta.
even then, compared to other shipbuilding sandboxes, it's as inexpensive as starbound.
knowing schine it'll end up on sale just before leaving early access too.

As long as we're in alpha, there will be no difference between purchased and non-purchased users. Once we release in beta, non-purchased users will not have access to our beta or release versions. They will still have access to any previous alpha versions.

Beta release (and the restrictions with it), as well as any price increases, will be notified to our community well in advance.
