This is a long read so be prepared for a wall of text. I've read the rules and I hope this doesn't violate them:
1: Ship door opening and docking to be seperate slots.
Why? Well, I have a wide ship that is big enough to hold a few battleships or planet landers. But whenever I've finished kicking some pirate butt or when I've hoovered up half a planet I have to get out and break off parts of my ship on the side so I can dock! If I try and get in through the PlexDoor bottom I end up closing the door with my ship still in the door! It glitches like crazy!
So put the door and the doking beam in seperate buttons. Unfortunatley however, this could pose a problem in the future when we have a million different things on our bar...
2: Stairs, decorative things and signs:
This is not going to be popular, right now SM is going for a trade/fighing route so decor suggestions might not run so well with people. But some of us want our station to be on Cribz so here are a few ideas:
More hanging lights, purple Plexlight, orange Plexlight, Coloured Doors (ambitious suggestion I know) stairs that act like corner blocks now, halfslabs of hulls and doors, flashing plexlights (with settings to change speed maybe?) 'pure' blocks of mineral (think MC store blocks) and signs.
How will signs be implemented? it is a light blue screen about the size of the sign in Minecraft that when right-clicked, brings whatever was typed into it into an info box on the top right hand side. Of course, you can see the sign too, it would just help if you coudn't read it.
3: Tracking beam, spectator seat, alarm and teleporter:
I'm going to get into trouble for this because these have been posted before, but the more people that suggest it the more likely it is to be implemented. So...
How the tracking beam could work:
When lasered at a non-orbiting object (ship or turret) this draws in the object closer too you. More modules add more pulling power, don't expect to reel in a mothership with just 1 block! Players could or couldn't be affected by this, it depends on balence. It could be a bad trolling tool or it could reel in stranded buddies back on.
How spectator seats could work:
Simply right-click it and you can cycle through onboard SD Cockpits without having to access the ship core. If you press C on the specseat then link the SD's, you can control different cameras. You could even create a security/CCTV room this way! It would also help if there was a way to position SD CP's to look left, right etc.
Alarm:
When placed it has 2 settings: Access and Defence. Access means any interactive blocks such as doors or boxes sets off the alarm sound. Defence means any shots hitting the object starts the alarm.
Teleporter:
Round round get around I get a round, yeah. If you place 2 of these and right click it will bring up a screen showing the (renameable) destination blocks. To preven god modding teleporting across star systems you could make it limited to one star sector.
Anyway, those are my suggestions. I hope I made it clear enough to read! TL;DR: hurr add everyting lolz
