Some NPC Faction Questions

    OK I'm working on a little side project that has me messing around with the NPC factions.

    Now I anticipate that these will change somewhat with the universe update but for now it is what we have.

    So, I am reaching out to anyone who may know the answers to the following questions.
    1. When the Trader faction is in its standard setup, their home base is always at 4,4,4. I cannot find this mentioned in the settings so is this hard coded or have simply not noticed before that the other factions have their home base in a similar position on their centre system? Can this be changed anywhere?
    2. Is there any way of making the other stations that have shops act as shops and can buy and sell to players or is the home base the only place to buy and sell (apart from any "rod shops")
    3. Is there any way of changing how aggressive a faction is? Obviously attacking ships or stations will mean they declare war but how about if you are mining asteroids in their space for example?
    4. Can players form alliances with NPC factions? Is there any way of making it easier for some factions and not for others?
    OK, I would really appreciate any feedback/answers or any suggestions for how to make other NPC factions more interesting.

    2: if the entity is set to allow other factions to use it, yes. Probably something weird in /data/npcFactions/Trading Guild/blueprints.zip/stationname It might be that old bug that reset all shops to private every time the server restarts rearing it's ugly head and unsetting their permissions. Lots of half finished features afterall.

    Wonder if there's a way in the diplomacy section to make them auto declare war just for existing on a server? o_O Or peace, or Alliance for that matter?

    Working on an NPC faction that is stupidly aggressive, fast spreading, and basically hates all existence. :) While able to offer peace and alliance it hardly ever well and basically declares war when you spawn into the game off the start. XD

    Yeah, I'm kinda going for something like that with one faction. There is a "mining" modifier but it is unclear as to whether they become precious over their resources and fight you off or just barge in and try to mine the asteroid you are mining.

    An ultra aggressive faction sounds pretty exciting though I was just thinking about making some tweaks to the tolerance levels of the existing ones and maybe make the Traders kinda protective of players in their space while the others being more suspicious of strangers in their territory and less tolerant of players mining their asteroids, etc.

    Thanks, I will look further. I found the starting system (0,0,0) in that file but not the home base sector.

    So if the shop module is set to be able to serve anyone other than enemies for example then maybe they should work? At the moment they have neither money or stock???

    eh, they USED to have both, if they don't now...."features"...right? I know I used to buy/sell with pirate station beta or gamma (forget which has a shop) as well as at least 2 of the trade guild stations. So if it's borked now, it's just borked now. I fully expect it to be fixed quite 500N with the Universe Update, somewhere mid 2020. :D
