I have a micro shuttle and a drone that both fit in a 7x7x7 dock. I'll grab screen shots next time I get in game.

I'll share a few of my favorite small ships. I honestly can't stand the larger ones, not because of lag or anything but because of scale. It just doesn't feel right to have a massive ship that's the size of 8 stars called a frigate... So below are some photos of my two favorites, the Empusa Scavenger class Service Vehicle, which is built for dangerous salvage missions. As well as it's retrofitted bigger sister the Succubus class Corvette.

The two in the center are the Micro Shuttles. UCS also has Light, Standard, and Heavy Shuttles in both armored and unarmored models.

I hear you there, I blame Star Wars for a lot of the obsession with massive ships. A nimitz class supercarrier is only 332 meters long, I imagine space ships in the future may possibly be bigger than that but I highly doubt 1000M ships will be practical.

Agreed, I can foresee 1 kilometer ships in the future, but only because of the need for large scale reactors(to power the currently proposed Space bender engines NASA came up with). Anything beyond that is well, frankly... unlikely. I know I know, this is a game. but still....

Also your drone fighter is kinda cute, it reminds me of my first attempt at a small fighter craft ever.

i think that in real life spacecraft will be (and are) very different from what we image in fiction and any interstellar space vehicle is likely to be a (very) large interstellar ecosystem almost like a synthetic planet, oppose to being a flying boat like we imagine them to be.

It is the nature of science fiction to be fiction. However if you've ever seen the movie 2001 a space odyssey, the ship and station in that movie are entirely scientific(100% based on the science of the time with only minor logical leaps)

also a few better pictures of the succubus corvette, as well a note, it's actually a 1/3rd scale model of the full size craft which is currently in development. I have found it really easy to build smaller ships and then extrapolate them into full size.

I love big ships AND small ships. Small ships are agile (and a pain in the ass to kill hehehe). Big ships are imposing, intimidating and lots of fun to build. I'd spit out 3 small ships per day if that's all I made.

One of my older gunship designs was the Fenrir, armed with two AMCs and one D1000:

It was the ideal smuggler's ship. It had hidden storage chests that could only be found by actually removing a deck panel on either side.

Well I guess I should add mine too, decided to upload it just for giggles. Thing is in single player all you have to do is go into your settings and change the AI accuracy to around 70-80% (human accuracy ranges from 70-85%) and fighters/small craft become a quite valid option for combat. 6 of these swarmed a pirate station for quite a while which let me come in a larger fighter to clean up.

I like them, I imagin we can make some really cool looking rotors with the new shapes.
Yea I will deffinetly have to try that out. I also need to go over the drop ship and change a few blocks since I built it before the new blocks were added.

I updated my ships using the new blocks and my texture pack. What rotor ideas do you have Sven?

Your texture pack really makes those ships look rugged, good job so far. As for rotor blades I've not tried to make any myself but I imagine with the new slopes sharper blades will look better, at least until we get half slabs and sloped half slabs (probably asking for to much)

Thanks! And I will have to try some stuff out once I get the chance.

This is possibly my favourite ship I have ever built. It's tiny, but I put a lot of work into it. Magnificent thrust and good firepower for the size. Only has 6 shield blocks, but oh well. It looks good ^-^

Plus, it only has a mass of 15.0

I recently upgraded it significantly without changing it's mass or dimensions, with very little change to looks. Actually looks better.

    Here's an old pic:

Looks better with the realistic pack, but oh well, I'm too lazy to upload.
