    Instructions:

    1. Open it with GIMP (at least 2.8.4)

    2. Go to Channels windows or tab (depends how you set up your GIMP)

    3. Right-click channel with name corresponding to body part you want to edit (they are in following order: Head parts, Upper body parts, Legs, Arms).

    4. Select \"Channel to selection\" (dunno how is exact name as I have localized version of GIMP).

    5. Part which you want to edit will be selected in the main window.

    6. Now you can paint all over it without risking messing up other parts

    7. When you\'re done, repeat.

//edit: I\'d be glad if this post would be copied to OP. Of course without this edit ;).

    To load it to GIMP

Start GIMP and then you go to file -> open and find the Dissected.psd

You can open it from within GIMP.

Edit the skin and when saving go to file -> export and rename your new skin and add .png in place of the .psd or .xcf

How are you guys making skins ok? After some VERY careful examining, I found that schema\'s default texture isn\'t even lined up right. It just masks the fact by having the background color being roughly the same color as the rest of the skin. This is all good and well, but I\'m having a huge amount of dificulty making a skin that uses many different colors in different places that DOESN\'T have annoying seams.
