Skin Brightness Problem

So i've spent a while on my awesome new Master Chief skin (I will upload it at a later date when its finished) and i have loaded it in game using my skin and helmet files with the basic Emissions found under data/models/character and my skin for some reason is very dark in lighting or brightness. I would assume it has nothing to do with my skin but with my game but i was wondering if there was anyway to increase skin brightness/lighting.

noup,skins ignore ship lights or any player made souces of light and anything else like walls blocking the stars,only stars can shine light on them,so even if you are in your ship,as you rotate your astronaut.. the shadows will move depending on where the star is
