This is not a call out for a better economy or a huge complex with hangars and rooms, just an update to the existing design.
Shops are probably the oldest structure in starmade (wouldn't know, not been here long enough), and you can tell by looking at them. They are oddly shaped, unsymmetrical and outdated. It wouldn't surprise me if they predated wedges.
This needs to change. They are the first thing that a new player will see, and do not do a good enough job of showing off the games design features. I am not saying we need some planet sized mega structure with fully operational logic, but wedges would be nice.
This is my biggest issue with shops.
The circle thing-ys are not circle. it drives me nuts. it was the first thing I noticed when I played, and still annoys me whenever I use a shop.
next thing, the little room on NPC stations
Nothing in this room is symmetrical or uniform other than the grey on the floor. This is the first thing I spotted when I saw the new shops.
I made it my mission tonight to fix this.
Here is my new shop, next to a current one. (mine is on the right)
Not much difference is there? the key is in the details.
I have extended the size of the central rod thing by 3 blocks. Not sure why I did this, but I like it.
The circles around the edge are fixed, and wedged to make them less blocky.
The central room is the biggest change.
Everything is centred, and looking proper. there is still the grey pattern on the floor to help break it up abit, and 4 plex-undeathinators just incase you need one. There is a rammet crystal core in the centre of the room to help signify that this is a shop, even if you don't have the indicators turned on.
I have added these beacons to the top and bottom, also made out of ramet crystal, just to break up the flat top, and be a sort of shop navigational beacon for easy spotting.
This would be a minor change to the game, and make things SO much nicer. shops are really ugly, and can be made to look so much better. I have a basic version of the shop if the Devs would like to use these particular ones.
