I've been thinking about this for a little while. I'd love to start seeing the registry used a great differentiator for Starmade. Its a good idea to allow the community to post their ideas, but one idea to help new players might be to purchase a ship from a trader! but those ships could come from the registry.
Currently you have to download the blueprint and admin load it through the loading config. I think a different NPC or Shop Block should let you browse through the registery. You could price it based on the cost of materials at the station and possibly only show ones that it has the parts for. Maybe even give a new player somewhat of a discount for thier first ship. Along with a rating system this might get more ships downloaded more often, and you'll start to see the community ship builders help the newer players even if they aren't on the same server.
Additonally it might make it easier for admins to get blueprints for thier pirates/NPC factions.
There's a ton of minutia that would go along with it. So I'm not worried specifically about those details
