This is something that's been going on with our server for a couple of weeks now. Everybody's home bases are littered with dead ships that get killed but never vanish. As you're travelling through space you'll find ships that were destroyed by someone just floating in the middle of nowhere; perhaps battles between the trading guild and pirates? They no longer have a faction. The only way to get rid of them is to either salvage them or hit their core to speed up the countdown until it vanishes. Basically, if you don't kill them manually, they never go away.

Having a debris cloud of dead and defeated ships surrounding your base looks pretty intimidating.

That would be nice, but I\'m worried that they are being counted towards the total number of AI in the universe. Our admin has bumped up the number of AI that can be in the universe at one time, but it\'s rare to find pirates anymore, and what we do find are very limited in number and strength.

if your wondering why this happens, its because when the sector unloads the countdowns pause, and when a server/game gets restarted all countdowns are turned off.

personally i think there should be a new game-mechanic that turns all wrecks into something like asteroids, that would be much better, or at least for big battle\'s and big ships.
