I've done some self-experimenting with this, but i can't find any solid data without tons of agrivation, so i figured i would ask here. What kind of Thrust/Mass ratio or w/e is needed to effectivly fight against a planet's gravity? i've spent too much time bouncing my ships around planet surfaces just trying to get and sort of momentum. What levels of thrust is needed to at least maintain altitude, if not escape the gravity field all together?

What would make the most sence if it was: if your mass and thrust are the same you should be able to counteract gravity.

Your thrust has to be higher than your mass.

In other words, a 1:1 ratio is the bare minimum (and it won\'t get you anywhere fast anyway, gravity or not)
