Okay, so I am new to StarMade, and don't get alot of things. However, I really need to clarify shielding - how does it work? Does a shield cover everything it touches? Diagonals? Does it only cover to the left and right of it? Yeah, I really don't know how they work at all. The shop description is that they shield blocks adjacent to them - so, they work on the Y axis as well?

Yeah, really would like to know what i am getting wrong.

From playing around with this extensively for the last week, or two, I\'ve gathered two things about shields.

    1) no matter the size of the ship, one shield cube covers the entire ship.

    2) The amount of shield cubes you use greatly determines how strong the shields are, I havn\'t noticed any patterns to strength of shields/layout like there are with generators, and engines, but there is another correlatioin to be found with this.

    - Amount of shields/number(configuration) generators = strength of shield recharge rate. I.E. More generators, gives more power, which the shields use when repairing themselves.

So, in conclusion..... Lots of shield cubes. Lots of Generators, and Lots of Engines (because shield cubes, and generators have mass, overcoming mass requires thrust)

Unless you intend on running small ships, (Mass >50) then one or two will do it.
