Hello Starmade
As some of you may have heard the original founders of Starside, Raiben, Dalmont, Saber, Criss and Zyrenica, have made the decision to shut down the Shattered Skies server. This is due to their lack of time on hand to manage the various ongoings that come with running a server.
Raiben, Dal and Saber have all been accepted into universities and jobs that require a substantial amount of time. That combined with managing their personal streaming channels, jobs at Shine and the realisation that after all that they still enjoy some personal time to spend with friends and family. Their ability to run the backend has thinned out too much to make it a viable venture in life for them.
The community lives on, we will still have the teamspeak to hang out on when tournaments happen and for the daily socialising with old friends.
Their request went out to the current admin team if anyone wanted to take over the running cost of the dedicated server since a substantial initial investment would go to waste otherwise.
Three admins and a former stood up and said they are willing to foot the monthly bill; Osirus, Gorn Captain, Chckn_Wildstyle and myself.
The transfer will happen on the 15th of July and our plan was to have the new server up by that time.
Unfortunately fate deems otherwise, and as it might have it one of our admins Chckn_Wildstyle has been admitted into the hospital for acute intestinal infection and crohn's disease.
The surgery he is facing will be severe, an appendectomy and several other sections of his intestine are being redirected and inflamed portions removed.
Due to this our plan to launch on the 15th is pushed back. The date is unknown for now and will be dependant on the recovery of our fellow admin. He’s looking at about at least 3 weeks of hospitalization and a further period at home during which he will be unable to sit up without being in agony or under the influence of severe painkillers.
We ask of you to bare with us as Chckn_Wildstyle makes a full recovery.
If more information becomes available it will be shared. The launchdate will be announced as soon as he’s able to come online.
