This can be a very useful set of info for Intel and Mac users especially. For PC users avoid using the update tool from Intel. It usually grabs the most stable version or the last one that matches your OEM's whitelist. Which ever is worst it seems. Let me start with this one I have..
    Driver confirmed working:
    10.18.10.4061 (15.33.32.4061) NUC (released 1/8/2015)
This is the same driver for all Win 7, 8, 8.1 32bit editions.

    Additional Info:
    Windows 8.1 32bit
    Java 32bit 1.8.0 update 31
    4x Silvermont CPU cores @ 1.3 - 1.8ghz
Intel HD Graphics 4 shader cores @ 311mhz (Ivy Bridge Gen 7 based)
    2gb DDR3
    32gb SSD
    Driver confirmed working:
    10.18.10.3960 (15.36.7.64.3960) Iris (released 10/03/2014)
Download the ZIP version of the file. Extract it somewhere you can find it easily. Start install procedure from device manager by updating the existing Intel HD Graphics driver. When asked use the option that allows you to look for drivers on your PC. Click on 'have disk'. Specify the directory you extracted the files to and find ../win64_15367/Graphics/. Select kit64ics.inf.

    Screen will flicker during install.
Just be patient. This could take 5 to 10 minutes.

The driver should be the same for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 64bit editions.
    Additional Info:
    Windows 8.1 64bit
Java 1.8.0 update 25 64bit (Manually downloaded and installed)
    4x Haswell-H CPU cores @ 400mhz - 1.2ghz x 2 threads each.
    Intel HD Graphics 4600 20 shader cores @ 1.35ghz (Haswell GT2)
    8gb DDR3
    1tb SATA2 HDD
