Salvage pistol

Since new crafting system is added I think that salvage pistol would be usefull. Generally more playing character-base gameplay would be cool.

Well actually you already have one in a way. When you right click you mine blocks which is basically the purpose of salvaging.

You already have a salvage pistol, it's just not a specific item you need to use. Right clicking and holding will salvage blocks.

Actually when I was last time in game, while using right-click on ore it didn't extracted shards or anything from ore. That's what I meant by salvage pistol.

the extractor tool does mine items but with a little time you can build a super fast little mining drone ideal for cherry picking ores out of asteroids. you could even use it on a planet.

I actually was thinking about survival. You start on a planet with no blocks or sth like that.

Right clicking works. I've done it a lot, snd it is quite useful when you are stranded on a planet.

I would presume so. Schema stated in the update announcement that it was possible to start crashed on a planet. The "Fabricator" as the handheld salvager (the beam you use to break blocks with right click) is called is really just a small salvage beam as far as the game's code is concerned. If salvage beams can harvest minerals, you should be able to manually.
