    Yes, Seed of Andromeda planets are great. However, they go a route Schema seems to not want to go for some reason, that being warping a cube of blocks into a sphere.

    Also, wrong subforum; this stuff goes in Suggestions.

    Yeah, I have seen people share their ideas and make suggestions and requests. I'm merely posting something I found that I thought may be of interest to others in the Starmade community and possibly Schine.

    But I'm not making a suggestion. Only posting something I found.
    I'm happy with the way things are at the moment, but thought this would be nice.

    Yea, strange gravity jumps are far better Isn't it?

    I can see round planets with block distortion working well on an extremely large scale (10-20km+ radius planets), with very "thin" surfaces (comparatively), to minimize the visible distortion... but that would require extreme efficiency boosts in terms of rendering and physics efficiency.

    Even without dev input on this thread, I suspect that this may be implemented at some point in the very distant future (ie: 2 years or so), just because of the nature of the game and the nature of development and suggestions.

    I agree.
    My desktop is not the best either can sometimes crash Starmade Client altogether with some planets. Although, since the latest few updates I have had a better experience planet side. Although the gravity is not always kicking in, but then I don't mind. It's easier to fly around.

    Level of Detail for planets was just now confirmed by Schema, so even current planets can safely get a whole lot larger. The last thing I'd worry about with this is rendering tons of blocks.

    I know that when my graphics card was broke, my computer could still handle a R450+ planet back in the old days around a year ago.
    (handle as in 8-12 frames)

    Now with my graphics card I can get double that. Maybe it will progress to be able to have that type of planet, but either wait 10 years or starmade will need a lot more coders.

    Does anyone here know the server IP that had the sample spawn station replacement that was on the live Q&A feed. I missed most of the Q&A due to work meeting and well, work. :( I would like to check it out when I get home tonight if it's still up then.
