Rotating blocks

I'm trying to make a turrent on my shp but the turret docker only gosideways and i can't get the arrow to rotate, i have tried shift plus wasd, shift plus control plus wasd and it just won 't turn!

hold control you will see in the top right you will see orientation

I can\'t figure it out. I hold control, but nothing happens.

When you hold down control in build mode, the right side of the screen should turn into the advanced build mode interface, which allows you to mass add/remove blocks (upto 10x10x10 and on multiple axis), and rotate the block as well (block must be able to be rotated, square hull doesn\'t count)
