You have a huge ship, and you see ennemy ship coming towards you. Since you don't have any support ships and lack turrets... The drones are controlled with the Bobby AI controller thing, and attack the ennemies.
Now that you just wone the battle, but you ship got heavily damaged... Instead of having to repair all the damagedblocks manually, you could use a similar version of those attack drones, but for repairing your ship, instead of attack ing ennemies.
(from where I took the idea... My topic was about repair and attack drones, I put this image to show where I took my idea... I'll leave the image, just because it's awesome.)
