These old blocks being in the factories do nothing but confuse newbies and waste their resources. I say they should no longer be craftable.

I think they're only still in because of people's old blueprints sometimes having them.

Completely unneeded once shipyards are out of dev and into release, since you'll be able to remove those from design mode.

Yeah, probably about time to bite the bullet and pull them out. Rip that band-aid right off. It's gonna sting for a lot of people, but it's time to update.

Yup, as soon as shipyard design mode is live I would agree, time to clean up

Wouldn't work for station blueprints. They can't be used in a shipyard.

There would need to be a separate system to clean out blueprints of blocks that can't be constructed.

That would be "spawning in your BPs with admin" and then removing them.

Which kinda makes "Completely unneeded once shipyards are out of dev and into release, since you'll be able to remove those from design mode." an invalid argument. Only admins can admin load it.

You know what would've solved this? The ability to load partial blueprints without filling them out entirely... Something people have been asking for since forever ago.

What kind of person doesn't have admin control over their own singleplayer?

That's not the point though, why bother saying it's fine now with design mode (when that only applies for ships) when you always could have admin loaded them before?
Besides, not all servers allow you to upload blueprints so let's say you have a blueprint on it and you can't load it because of a missing block that can't be constructed:
    - make local blueprint
    - spawn in SP, clean it up
    - make new blueprint
    - upload blueprint to the serv....oh...nevermind I can't do that

The other option is begging an admin to spawn it in for you, that then supervises you so you only clean up those blocks, and then allows you to make a new blueprint of it when you're done, despawns the ship and leaves you be....I don't see that happening

Edit: I'm sure some option can be found to disregard these blocks of a blueprint. Like partial spawning (mentioned above me) or setting blocks to a specific setting so they don't count in blueprints anymore (We kinda have that > deprecated: yes => don't need to fill these in blueprints)

Good points. Perhaps an [OUTDATED] should be placed in front of the name so people are less likely to make them, and reduce the price to, say, 1 metal mesh?

Blocks have a setting where they can be set to deprecated, I think it removes them from stuff (basically "removing" them from the game). Perhaps this could be carried over to blueprints so they deprecated blocks don't count towards filling it.
