Regarding docking orientation

Hey, um. I kinda got a problem, question, something like that.

Did I see that right that ships docking on other ships will always trying to orientate towards the front of the carrying ship, even if the docking area would allow a sideways orientation?

And more importantly, will that be changed at some point? Because if not, I suppose I'm gonna have to scrap quite a bit of work just now, because the hangars I built on a carrier are pointed sideways.

Mine are like that too, I am not aware of any feature that allows us to change the direction they face, but I really hope one comes soon...

I really hope someone has some information of this. Cause at this point i\'m at a crossroads between keep building as designed with 32 (or less) sideways hangars that may or may not end up completely useless or halving the capacity in favor of making them forward pointing...
