reactor box dimension limit

I am building a very large ship, and I have been trying to figure out reactor limits. I saw a post that said reactors have a 2 million box dimension limit. Now does this mean you can have 2 million separate reactor dimensions? Or do you just stop getting the bonus from box sizes after you hit 2 mill e/sec on regeneration? I am just trying to figure out how this is working so i can get an efficient core on my ship.

Any help or clarification on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Or even a link to a thread that would answer my question, I tried searching for an answer but couldn't find one.
