So what that means is, in short, when you have a turret 'base' (vertical rotation) and the 'guns' (horizontal rotation) the mass of the guns is being squared when the rotator that moves the base looks at the 'total mass'?
That makes large turrets very very difficult to design until the bugfix. Or is my understanding incorrect?

I'm not completely sure myself but it reads like that.

is this still the issue with the enhancers? there has been several patches and hotfixes and I have not seen 1 mention of this being fixed. I have learned to basicly turn off the need for the enhancers all together until this gets fixed.

It's been awhile since I played... But with the Fleet Update I wanted to work on my ship docking again...
So in case anyone hits this thread again...

If you say you have a Platform docked to a large ship - and you have a fighter dock to the platform - the Mass Enhancers have to be connected to the platform to move the fighter docking

Just FYI because i wasted my time adding Mass enhancers to my Carrier and nothing worked until I put them on the platform that pulls the ship in. The platform is attached to the rail system of the big ship.

If the fighters move along the platform then the platform needs enough enhancers on the platform for the fighters. If the platform moves along the ship then you need enough enhancers on the ship to move the combined mass of the platform and the fighters on it.

The bug that caused enhancers to not take chain docked entities into account has been fixed a long time ago.

I am running into similar issues with my carrier. I am attempting to dock a ship, and I am sure my rail mass capacity is a factor 100 higher then the listed mass of the docking ship. At least, according to the Entity Structure menu. Listed capacity for carrier: 230025 units. Listed mass of docking ship: 2485,3 units.

I had this problem on a station im currently building. I have a little tram car set up to go from one side of the station to the other. I decided to spam in some mass enhancers to make sure i had enough weight capacity for all the various rails. After placing, I noticed the tram car was moving much, much slower. Deleting the extra mass enhancers sped the car back up to original speed.

I'm having similar issues. I built some pretty large shield draining turrets to protect my base from large ships with huge amount of shield power, and when I dock the turrets to a two docking arm system, to achieve 3d axis rotation, they won't move to attack or target anything. I've added large amounts of mass enhancers to all sections, to compensate for the mass, and supplied plenty of power to account for the extra mass enhancers. I tested all this and it just seems that anything larger than an average sized turret will not move when docked to a two 2 axis rotational setup. I've recently been attacked and killed multiple times by big ships... and my large turrets just sit there doing nothing. ??? I hope this issue gets fixed soon.
Is your bobby AI module on the Battery itself or the mount? Another thing to check is to make sure the ship cores in the mount and battery are facing the same direction. If that doesn't help, are you willing to detach the turret assembly, save it as a blueprint, upload it to the dock, and drop a link here? I'd be willing to take a look at it. I'm sure if I can't help you, others who are much better builders then I could :)

Maybe it's just the server we're starting on now, but turrets on our homebase station are totally unresponsive.

I've even run a series of tests tonight. I don't know where to begin here. We docked a large turret to a stem, which in turn docked to the station. If I enter the turret or the stem, it says "add more mass enhancers, this turret will only move at 5%!". I've added over 2000 mass enhancers to the station, and it still says 5%.

What's more, the turret will not attack enemies. Neither will it attack my selected target if I sit in the stem. Neither will Anti Missile Turrets attack incoming missiles.

I made a very small turret and put it on a ship. Then I spawned a simple Ship Core. I told the turret to attack my selected target, which was the Core. As long as I undocked from the station, the turret would shoot the Core. As soon as I docked to the station, the turret became unresponsive. As soon as I undocked from the station, the turret resumed firing.

Are turrets on stations just turned off? Is that a possible thing? If it is that's a very stupid thing and I won't continue playing on this particular server. I just want to rule out user error first. I've been doing turrets during my entire
(off and on) Starmade career and I am completely stumped why these ones are not working.

Did you put enhancers on the base of the turret ? Enhancers aren't shared.

I just put 300 Enhancers in the stem, still says 5%.

There are no ships docked to the station atm. Even the small 3.3 mass AMS turrets are unresponsive.

I have a test ship that is about 15 mass. A turret on that ship can be actively firing at a target, but as soon as I dock to the station, it stops firing. It resumes firing as soon as I undock.

So here's something I discovered today. I need about 700 Rail Mass Enhancers on the stems for the big turrets. Up until about 650 of them, it was still telling me that the turret would track at 5% speed. That number then magically went all the way up with the remaining few in place.

It seems they still work, but the tracking speed doesn't increase with the amount of Enhancers placed. Once you have enough to move at 100% it seems ok.
