Question on bobby AI: Can the be assigned to guns on a ship?

I want to set up side guns on a ship like cannons on an old ship, and have bobby AI man them, so that way, they will shoot enemies that are in range without having to be assigned to turrets. Is this possible?

Nope. But what you can do is dock ships to normal docks and activate Bobby AI on them. Put it in a hollowed out area in the side of the ship, and then cover most of it back up with hull while leaving holes for the gun outputs.

Can ai crew operate weapons computers then?

AI crew is just for show right now I'm afraid, Framework is in place for them to become useful when they get their AI, but more or less useless atm.
