Punch Through Module -> no effect

    so far i have been testing things out and have found that the punch through module has no real effect on guns

    i think it was a change to damage model or something but all guns already punch through without the module being added on

    tested vs 5 layer armor blocks using cannons/lasers

    Read the patch notes for the HP system. Cannons now have native punch through, beams have pierce.

    I did not know this. Tell me, do weapons lose their native effect when you slave an effect to them?

    Not that I know of, you should be able to give them a boosted version of the effect if you use the effect they already have with them.

    in any case punch through module is now defunct, why is it still in game?

    and in regards to "boosted effect" there is literally no difference between guns equipped with punch through vs those without

    all weapons already have 100% punch through

    If I remember right doesn't it cause damage that doesn't go into killing a block to jump to the connected nearby ones if the block is destroyed?

    I'm pretty sure punch through is still valid. A cannon on it's own seems to only destroy one block. With explosives, it's damaging everything around it like you'd think and punch through, I can clear an entire gun barrel row from a turret with a direct hit.

    this is my standard 75:75:75 fighter cannon...
    1st hole is punch through 1500 damage shot (went through 3 layers of armor)
    2nd hole is standard 750 damage shot (1+1/2 layers of armor)
    3rd hole is overdrive (straight through 5 layers of armor (goes through 7.5 max))
    4th hole is pulsed (through 5 layers 16 max)

    conclusion :
    1 : 1 punch through is about equal to 2x cannon
    1 : 1 overdrive - f**k yea! x5 penetration
    1 : 0.5 pulse - f**k yea! x5 penetration
    1:0.5:1 cannon : pulse : overdrive f**k yea! x25 penetration

    Howdy, I just looked in the blockBehaviorConfig.xml to verify, and punch currently adds a bonus 50% to block damage and 25% to armor HP damage for cannons and beams. It adds 5 to the damage radius and 50% to the armor HP damage for pulses and missiles. Hope that helps.
