problem migrating server to ubuntu

I tried simply copying and starting with apropriate java launcher but it always craseh when trying to run a server.

Basicly what it says is that there is another instance running. i tried running fresh starmade and works without problem.

My greatest problem is that i need to run it on ubuntu now instead of win7 without loosing progress in server.

Thanks to anyone who helps or tries.

worked fine for me....jsut copies the starmade folder across...downloaded the .jar file for linux and ran it in terminal with -nogui. just make both .jar and the starmade folder are in the same place.

if you want to play the game on the same machine (mine just runs the dedicated server) you will need to use screen to be able too.
