Power Supply and Planets

Seeing how each facet of a planet is considered a different entity from another, could i in theory generate power on one facet, and send it to another with the power supply beams? Cannot test or would just do it myself as I am at work...

Sounds possible. When I do survival again, after I am done messing with shipyards, I will experiment with making a power distribution grid for the entire planet.
