Allow me to present Power3.0-
>Two types of blocks-reactors and dimensions.
>Place down "dimensions" type power block to define a volume. (Similar to old power dimensions, except this is just grouped single lines of blocks along each axis, i.e similar to scanner antennae, cept in 3D)
>For dimensions x,y,z we have to place down (grouped) (x+y+z)/3 number of "reactor" type blocks, each with 500e/s power generation(say) anywhere inside that defined volume. Placing more of these blocks does nothing. Placing less decreases power gen linearly with reactors size.
>That was just one reactor. For multiple reactors, multiple such boundaries have to be defined, with one of the areas overlapping for the tractor to be valid.
>simple.
>leaves free space, at the same time not allowing island builds.
>doesn't favour any ship size or shape over the other.
>easier calculation compared to both power systems.
>Better battle performance and more optimized.
>Extremely easy to refit old ships and stations.
>Same concept can be applied to shield systems.
>No crappy mechanic-fix needed.
>Not shit.

Concept representation:
(Though I have shown cubical reactors above, any shape is possible as long as it's grouped)
