Portals, quick travel, and jumping (through time+space)

    Personaly, i'd like a block that is a portal generator, along with another blck called Portal controller.

    Like the anti-matter cannons, the more portal blocks you have, the bigger the portal.

    To open a portal, you must click the fire button to begin slowly charging the system, clicking again will begin cycling down the system.

    Portal Generators require ALOT of power, and a minium of a 5m cube of power blocks would be needed for 1 Portal Generator block to be powered well enough. 1 Portal block = 5m Diameter portal Diameter is the mesurement from one side of a cirlce or sphere, through the centre, to the opposite side.

    The further the distance, the more charge is required, and therefore more time to 'spin up'.

    Portals require a waypoint to be set before you open the portal, or it will jump five sectors. You can also link two portal controllers to make a direct teleportation system.

    Portals could be a large sphere, and when your ship passes through to at least halfway, it will transport you to the destination.

    Portal opens, and remains open till either the Portal Generator is turned off or runs out of the accumulated charge.

    In addition, i'd like to be able to use them on/part of a planet, provided there are enough power blocks, allowing something like the slip-space portal from Halo 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCEQExTo7Fw

    Admitedly with more blockyness...also, maybe an effect like a missile that bypasses sheilds in the diameter of the portal, in essence destroying anything in the way of the opening portal.

    Now, some people will say "But, griefers!" but if the charging creates an effect in the local area where the portal will open occours, then, like the covenant ships in the video, ships can move out of the way of the portal before it opens.
