Plasma effect

    What about a effect module somewhat like Plasma Torpedoes from halo?
    Kinda like explosive effect, but with a smaller radius and blocks around the impact would "melt" over time.
    Of course there would have to be a cap on how much of the target can be Melted.

    For one, this is honestly pretty useless, due to nuclear torpedos being just as good, as well as doing more sheild damage and doing everything instantly.

    A string of ever smaller missiles arrayed in a line could have the desired effect, creating a more deeply penetrating but not so wide 'cone' of damage, rather than a big ol crater.

    Possibly doing more damage than the current Missiles of starmade, and having a larger radius over time.

    An acid/damage over time effect is something I've wanted ingame for a while.

    How about a damage over time effect module? It'd deal less damage on impact, and less damage overall, but it'd continue damaging the target preventing shields from recharging.

    Isn't the mine-layer secondary meant to add delay or fuse?

    Ok, but there needs to be some sort of passive effect to deactivate plasma. Maybe passive plasma effect messes with the plasma field and disables it.
