I started a similar design to this and just pictured in my head a far larger disc version that just slid right over a planet and mined it in seconds. Someday.............

I just finished my mass miner today with 12 salvage hardpoints with each at 0.118 seconds, got stuck on a planet and tried to mine my way through which was still slow. Raok\'s disc idea sounds pretty good, althought mining that many blocks in such a short time could cause some server lag.

Yeah I imagine a massive ship capable of mining a planet in seconds would certainly cause server lag, haha.
