just an idea, make it so if you place a rail docker correctly orientated on a rail it will act as if it is a docked ship and move on the rail but will be able to have logic and storages connected and can be edited in the mother ships build mode. this would allow for more versatilely for small elevators and other moveable items.

That would be pretty hard to get into the game currently, and comes with a few odd issues about what allow as a new movable entity or no.
