PC help: intel graphics problem

First off, I would like to point out that my PC ran Starmade smoothly with Intel right up to the point that I got Windows 8.1 . Second, I would like to manually install the driver (because I am really choosy when it comes to stuff I have to put on my computer.). Thirdly the problem: Starmade loads up to 100%, then JVM crash happens.
Technical readout
ASUS Platform R700V Series (not I.D.'d by website.)
OS: Windows 8
Memory/RAM: 8GB
1TB hard drive
Intel readout (graphics info): Intel Graphics 4000
installing a driver can have significant issues with a pc. choosing the RIGHT driver is even harder and more difficult. What I need to know is what driver is right for my pc.

Try this:

If SM is displaying "32 Bit" in the top bar despite having a 64 bit OS, you have a 32 bit installation of Java. For some reason that does happen very often on Windows 8.*. Remove all installations of Java and download a 64 bit JRE (it shouldn't matter if you're choosing Java 7 or Java 8) from here.

.....WTF? WHY IS MY JAVA 32-BIT!? I DOWNLOADED 64-BIT!!!!!
also @der_scheme , I will try that out, since 8.1 must have reverted my Java somehow to 32-bit.

I re-downloaded 64 and 32-bit and it works. TY.
