Ore capsules to shards.

So i just got a hull recipe, and it tells me i need 2 Varat shards to make 1 hull.
The problem is, how do i convert the ore capsules into shards? I already tried putting them in a refinery but it doesn't work.

Apparently, there are ore capsules and shards out now. All L-1 recipes have been either changed to either an ore OR a shard recipe. Try to find the shard you are looking for and associate it with that type of L-1. For example: Exogen changed to a ore capsule, and another L-1 ore might be a shard. Also, refinery behaves exactly like a factory at the moment. I have thrown everything into it, only to be mocked at it not converting anything into anything.
Short answer: L-1 recipes are now either a capsule or shard, check the shop to see which one is now the Varat shard. Refineries do NOTHING.
