On the topic of Space Stations

    So, a few of my buddies and I are on a server, got a faction established and all that. Claimed an intact space station, got our ships docked, and I've been sprucing the place up (changing the main tower, adding designs, changing colors), and we even tacked on eight turrets. But, what else could be added? With the faction home set there, no damage can be dealt to it, so I don't think tacking shields onto the base would do much for us (unless NPC pirates can still do damage...?). I've been experimenting, and I can get into a weapons computer that I put down, and it can sort-of fire from any cannons attached to the base, but that's not going to do much better than the turrets already do.



    So, are there any other useful facilities that can be added to a faction base? I haven't totally investigated the factory items, but I was thinking more in the way of possibly using different weapons with the station. Maybe make a hangar that can use AstroTechnobeams to repair docked ships?

    Try experimenting with the factory system, that can take up a lot of space. Also, build an organized faction storage as well as crew quarters for personal storage. I\'ve seen people build massive stations and actually fill them up with RP-style rooms and such.

    yup, factory, and AI fleet defence could also work nicely, having a parked fleet that goes after the hostiles who pop in and out of the sector (fleeing of the turrets or planning to attack from distance), the ships would go after them.
